Household Bulky Waste
Auburn residents can dispose of household bulky waste year-round at Maine Waste to Energy (110 Goldthwaite).
Fees will be assessed by MWE.
MWE is open Monday-Friday, 7AM to 4PM and Saturday 7AM–noon.
You may be required to show proof of residency (driver’s license, tax bill, utility bill, etc.).
Materials MWE will accept:
- Furniture
- Mattresses & box springs
- Air conditioners
- Tires
- Rugs
- Metals (excludes large auto parts and metals containing hazardous materials)
- Propane tanks
- White goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, small appliances, etc.)
- Wood waste which includes construction and demolition debris
- Sheetrock
- Shingles
MWE will NOT accept:
- Any Hazardous Material
- Paints
- Oils
- Cleaners
- Gasoline
- No liquids of any type
Electronic waste such as televisions, computer monitors, and fluorescent bulbs can be brought to the Public Works Garage at 296 Gracelawn Road (free of charge).
