Auburn’s strategic commitment to making our beautiful downtown a destination for our residents, our visitors, our region, and our state (and beyond) has had extraordinary results! The city hosts three annual signature events, a few smaller community events, and holiday shopping events to support local startups and small businesses.
New Year's Auburn
Ring in the new year at Maine’s biggest & best party of the year: NEW YEAR’S AUBURN! Enjoy the New Year's Auburn beer garden, featuring beer, wine & other delicious beverages served up by local breweries, pubs & restaurants, and incredible FOOD TRUCKS from across Maine. Dance the night away in Festival Plaza/Main Street to our EPIC New Year's Auburn bands. Admission is free!

Auburn Lobster Festival
Auburn A lobster festival in central Maine? What began as an April Fool's joke on our Facebook page is now one of our most popular community events! Auburn may not be coastal, but we LOVE Maine, and we wholeheartedly support our state’s lobster industry. So, join us each May in beautiful downtown Auburn, along the banks of the Androscoggin River for LIVE music, delicious craft brews, food trucks, lobster, and lots of fun for all ages.

Each September, Main Street/Festival plaza is THE place for hot blues and Maine’s best brews! You don’t want to miss the Auburn Blues & Brews
