Fire Prevention Division
The Fire Prevention Program consists of the Fire Prevention Officer (Fire Inspector/Fire Investigator), David O'Connell. This program provides for the life safety of the public as well as the firefighters. The Fire Prevention Office is responsible for the following:
- Fire investigations
- Life safety inspections and license approvals for businesses
- Life safety inspections for 3+ unit apartment buildings
- Plans review for new construction/businesses
- Providing Certificates of Occupancy
- Code enforcement
- Oil burner inspections
- Chimney, pellet stove, wood stove, and fireplace surveys
- Blasting permits
- Fireworks permits
- Juvenile Firesetter Program
