PUBLIC NOTICE | May 27, 2020

Mayor Jason Levesque, City Manager Peter Crichton, the Auburn City Council, and Auburn's Economic & Community Development Department announce that the City of Auburn is now receiving public comments for the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and 2020 Annual Action Plan until June 1, 2020.

Comments will also be accepted at the City Council meeting held on June 1, 2020. Persons with special needs for accessibility or communication assistance should contact the Community Development office to arrange for accommodations.

The Draft 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan and 2020 Annual Action plan is available from the Economic and Community Development Office or by email request from ZLenhert@auburnmaine.gov.

Goals of the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan:

Provide Safe and Affordable Housing: Increase, maintain, and improve the supply of safe, lead-free, and affordable housing for individuals and families with extremely low to moderate incomes.

Promote Economic Opportunities: Create economic opportunities for individuals and families with low to moderate incomes.

Improve Public Infrastructure and Facilities and Eliminate Blight: Preserve and improve public facilities and infrastructure that serve low to moderate-income neighborhoods or special needs residents and prevent or eliminate blight.

Provide Essential Services: Provide essential public services to improve quality of life for individuals and families with low-moderate incomes, including presumed benefit populations of abused children, battered spouses, elderly persons, severely disabled adults, homeless persons, illiterate adults, persons living with AIDS and migrant farm workers.
