For immediate release from the Auburn Police Department

ARREST MADE IN WALGREENS PHARMACY FIRE

AUBURN, ME – On November 23rd, 2021 at approximately 6:11am, Auburn Fire/Rescue and Auburn Police responded to Walgreens Pharmacy, 61 Union St for a reported fire outside the building. The fire extended into the building and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Auburn Police have arrested 32 y/o Sarah Huntington of Sabattus in connection with the fire. Huntington has been charged with Arson and Aggravated Criminal Mischief and is currently being held on $25,000 cash bail at the Androscoggin County Jail.

The building suffered some structural damage and significant smoke damage. Damage estimates are not available at this time. The State Fire Marshall’s Office assisted in the investigation.
